Specializing in aviation leasing and finance, Ajay has around 16 years of experience of over 800 transactions in aviation and structured finance and has advised on leasing, financing, securitization and structuring of various cross border aviation matters. His practice areas primarily include transaction structuring, regulatory compliance, repossessions and litigation and his clients include major manufacturers, lessors, leading banks & financial institutions and export credit agencies across the globe. He also advises on dispute resolution and general corporate & commercial matters.

He has a vast litigation experience and has extensively been involved in the Kingfisher, SpiceJet, Jet Airways and other repossessions and bankruptcy related matters and is preferred for his commercial acumen, straightforward advice and solution-oriented approach.

Over the years, he has worked closely with the Aviation Working Group and the Ministry of Civil Aviation to bring about amendments to the Aircraft Rules in line with India’s commitments under the Cape Town Convention which has assisted in creating a lessor/ financier friendly civil aviation environment in India. He is also majorly involved with the ambitious Gujarat International Finance Tech- City (GIFT) project of the Government of India and is a member of the Rail Working Group.

A member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Ajay is the Conference Quality Officer of the Aviation Law Committee at the IBA.
